Hello,
We would like to configure a etherchannel trunk between a Cisco 3020 blade switch and a Nortel 8310 core switch.
There are two 3020 blade switches in the HP enclosure. We would like to configure each switch to have an etherchannel uplink to the core consisting out off 4 1000 Mbit links.
I would like to know what design considerations and known errors we could run into.
There is a PortChannel with 4 interfaces as a Trunk dot1q to the 8310.
Do we need to use spanning tree on these trunks or can we safely disable this?
The mode of channel group is set to on at this time. The 8310 supports LACP thru the use of a MLT setting.
What would be the recommended setting for the mode I would think active or passive?
Any insights are greatly apreciated.
Kind regards,
Arp
