I have connected a Unifi AP to one of the ethernet ports Gi 0/1/2 on my C1111-4P router, however the AP doesn't appear to be powering up and no activity light on the port.
Is there a config needed on the router to enable poe?

Hi
Router is not a good place to plug end device. If your AP needs PoE to Power up, the router will not provide it to your the AP.
You are going to need external Power source.
Would be better put a switch between AP and router.
This router seems to have PoE but you actually need the right power supplay and an additional board on it. ISR-1100-POE4=

thanks @Flavio Miranda . Yeah i realise its better to use a separate switch but i have such a small number of endpoints I was hoping to use those POE ports. I haven't physically checked yet but I'm guessing you are right that I dont have the poe card installed. Will most likely go the separate switch option if that proves to be the case. really appreciate your help in researching and sending the youtube. cheers

Half of the switch ports of an 1100 support PoE and they are usually the first half.
Post the complete output to the command "sh power inline".

thanks @Leo Laohoo I think I'm clearly missing the optional POE card.
