Hello guys,

we are hitting bug CSCuq70431 and as a workaround there it says "There is a backdoor method to disable the MET Vlans."

Can please someone let me know what this backdoor method for disabling the MET Vlans is?

Thanks in advance,

Vesko

Hello I just checked some details on this bug. Here is what I got.

· Gather your configuration that is running on a box that has MET reserved vlans and save as a text file. (even though you are not using the MET vlans for anything)
· Add one of the MET reserved vlans to the text file configuration
o Vlan 4001
Name testvlan
· Copy text file to startup
· Copy startup to run(populates vlans that are new into vlan table)
· Reload device
· When asked ?System configuration has been modified. Save? [yes/no]:? say no
· Proceed with reload
· Once box is backup confirm you do not have met reserved vlans. Only will see the below. Your 4001 vlan has also been created at this point.

VLAN Usage
---- --------------------
1006 online diag vlan0
1007 online diag vlan1
1008 online diag vlan2
1009 online diag vlan3
1010 online diag vlan4
1011 online diag vlan5
1012 PM vlan process (trunk tagging)
Once again, i have not tested anything like this in lab, i am just sharing this information to you. Applying this work around is solely at your discretion .

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Madhu.

Hello Madhu,

can you please let me know if we can also expect to have a release in which this bug will be fixed so that such a workaround is not needed.

Vesko

Not sure of that at this moment.

Thanks,

Madhu
