Hi Folks,

I am planning to upgrade Nexus 7710 image from 5.2(7) to 6.2(18) with following modules installed :

1    32     10 Gbps Ethernet XL Module          N7K-M132XP-12L     ok
2    48     1000 Mbps Optical Ethernet Module   N7K-M148GS-11      ok
3    32     10 Gbps Ethernet XL Module          N7K-M132XP-12L     ok
5    0      Supervisor module-1X                N7K-SUP1           ha-standby
6    0      Supervisor module-1X                N7K-SUP1           active *
9    32     10 Gbps Ethernet Module             N7K-M132XP-12      ok
10   32     10 Gbps Ethernet Module             N7K-M132XP-12      ok

These are two chasis (primary , backup) both with dual SUP,s installed and running EIGRP protocol.

I am looking for some kind of (Mehtod of procedure) which could explain step by step process to follow for upgrade , since current version is 5.2(7) and destination IOS is 6.2(18) so as per my knowledge it will be multi-hop upgrade and intermediate version 6.2(8a) will be required.

Any advise please?

Hi,

That is correct. You would need to do a multi-hop upgrade. Since you have 2 chassis with 2 sups, you should be able to upgrade one chassis at a time without any downtime. Follow this guide to upgrade:
