I have switches Cisco cat2948G switch and Cisco 3560G switch. Linux (Fedora 6.0 OS) workstations connected to switch 3560G comes into network in immediately, but the Linux (Fedora 6.0 OS)workstations connected to switch 2948G takes long time to come in the network. I found if I disable IPv6 support in Fedora OS it comes in the network immediately.

But it not possible to disable IPv6 support on workstation as they need restart after every updates for testing.

So I want to know how can I enable IPv6 support on Cisco cat2948G switch.

IOS running on the switch is cat2948g-in-mz.120-25.W5.27.bin

Thanks

San

San,

You cannot enable IPv6 on 2948G switch, it end-of-life and end-of-sale. The IOS with IPv6 feature cannot be loaded on this switch. Its is no longer supported.
