I was in rommon mode trying to fix a problem with ios of a 1841 router. When changing bit rate using the command (confreg),
rommon 1 >confreg
Configuration Summary
enabled are:
break/abort has effect
console baud: 9600
boot: the ROM Monitor
do you wish to change the configuration? y/n [n]: y
enable "diagnostic mode"? y/n [n]:
enable "use net in IP bcast address"? y/n [n]:
enable "load rom after netboot fails"? y/n [n]:
enable "use all zero broadcast"? y/n [n]:
disable "break/abort has effect"? y/n [n]:
enable "ignore system config info"? y/n [n]:
change console baud rate? y/n [n]: y
enter rate: 0 = 9600, 1 = 4800, 2 = 1200, 3 = 2400
4 = 19200, 5 = 38400, 6 = 57600, 7 = 115200 [0]:
I do not know what did I choose exactly, I restarted the router then I got lost!!!!! I tried changing bit rate of hyperterminal several times, each time I used a different bit rate but it is not working..... each time I get the same blank (white) screen of hyperterminal.
Please help me to get the right bit rate or whatever to get to the rommon mode again.

Thank you, I think it worked. All what I did is I just copied the command you gave to the hyperterminal screen then I saw lots of " i($%^*&*$^))#$^&*#$&%@#^!#*!)#*%&%$*#(@(@))_ " going up and down I knew that it changed the bit rate to 2400. Now it is fine thank you.
