Hi @gavinhans 

Although the NXOS REST API is an option, I would recommend using NX-API CLI. It is a much better and more versatile option.

What @marce1000  already provided is a great starting point.

If you have a nexus in your hand you can play with a built-in sandbox available on the switch:
