hi everyone,
How are you? I am not familiar with this setup...so hope you can help...
I have one switch has setup a port mirroring/SPAN. It is working great. The settings I found on the current switch are:
monitor session 1 source interface gi 01-46
monitor session 1 destination inter gi 47 (where the sniffer port of a server is)
(49-52 are trunk ports.)
Now I would like to setup another new switch so that the traffic on the new switches can be also mirrored and send to the server connected to the old switch above (and this new switch will have a fiber connections connected to the old switch above without any hop in between).
May I ask how do I achieve this? Hope you can help.
Thank you for your help in advanced. Stay safe.

- Have a look at RSPAN as explained here :
M.
-- Each morning when I wake up and look into the mirror I always say ' Why am I so brilliant ? '
When the mirror will then always repond to me with ' The only thing that exceeds your brilliance is your beauty! '

Hi Balaji,and Marce2000
Good afternoon. Thank you for both your info and the links. From the link Balaji sent, I would to ask if the capturing vlan is the source vlan I need to capture the traffic from? EG: currently I want to capture traffic from my current existing vlan 300...then this vlan 300 will be the vlan id I need to put down in the source rspan commands? I do not have to create a new one for the capturing vlan?
Also, the the trunk ports my two switches connected to each other, do I need extra configuration for it?
Finally, SPAN and RSPAN cannot co-exist on the same switch?:They are different "settings" or "protocols" right?
THank you for your help.
