Hi
I am working in a netwrok setup with catalyst 4507R (Sup-V) is working as a core switch...now we are planning to add one more core switch in the network which is Catalyst 4507R(Sup6L-E)..now the network will run with 2 core switches and HSRP will be configured between core switches and end user will have Gateway as HSRP ip of vlan in the core switches..
need to clarify follwoing doubts in the same
==Both the core switches have diffrent sup engines so is there any problem in running HSRP between 2 swicthes
==The Software version on both the switches are diffrent..will it be a problem in HSRP implementation..(Probabaly would not be in a position to upgrade the SUP-5 of old core switch with same software as the new Sup engine 6L-E in new core switch..Sup-5 probabaly may not support new IOS in Sup 6L-E)
===For the Trubk link between to core switches we are planning to use same speed 10G ports but on core1 the ports are from Sup engine and for core2 the ports are from Line card ..(Speed & type match)
Please help with your expert comments..

1. No problem running different supervisors
2. Should not be a problem with different IOS versions.
3. As long as the links are the same speed that should not be a problem.
