Someone told me that I can load balance using multiple groups on hsrp, how would i set this up and how would it work, I have 2 routers with 2 lan interfaces !

Hi Carl,
Yes you can do load-sharing using multiple HSRP groups. It involves making some of the groups active on one device and some groups active on the other device. For example if you have two VLANs configured with HSRP, then make one group active on one router/switch and the make the other one active on the second router/switch. You can do the same by reducing the priority of one group on one device and increasing it on the other one.

However I would recommend GLBP if you want to load-balance your links. Its a better option than MHSRP for load-balancing.

carl let say you are having 2 different group for hsrp...so you can have one routerA is active router and other is standby routerB for one group...
and for other group you can have routerB as acitve router and router A as a standby router...
you can do it by varing the priority field of the router for the various gropu...
you can find configuration document from cisco website...
