I have ran several commands via putty through the console. I also did a factory reset through cli. However when I try to login through browers at https://asa-ip/admin I dont get a page.
The commands I have run are "http server enable" "http 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0 inside
I also downgraded java.

the issue is that ASDM is not installed on the 5505. You have to have a service account to download it from cisco. My company bought two 5505 ASA devices. Immediately upon receiving them I set them up and could not get to the "https://192.168.1.1/admin". I tried calling Cisco support to get help. I was told the warranties had expired and that I would have to purchase a service contract. Once that is done you can download the "asdm-xxxx.bin" and load it on the device everything works fine. I was a little set back that after spending several hundred $$ you still have to pay cisco more just to make the device work. Yes you can configure it without the asdm gui interface via command line.

Thank you Charles11. I think because I am only wanting to use this for a simple network firewall I will use the cli and save some money this time.
I also just learned that this device only supports like 36 or 38 hosts. What do you recommend? Create a DHCP a relay or what?

You can try and find the ASDM image at internet, not from Cisco but other sites.
