The problem is, when you use the command 'reload slot <#>' command it asks for a "Slot number of RP or line card". Am I safe to assume that Switch 1 is "Slot 1" and Switch 2 is "Slot 2"? I have to be sure to only reload switch 1, because I need to test the fail-over on switch 2. Thanks!

That is correct. Also, to know what switch is 1 and what is 2, issue "sh switch" command.
And one more thing, if this is in production, do the reload in a maintenance window just in case.

Thanks for the answer Reza that's what I thought! Yes this is production but isolated from outside users, just internal. I backed up the running config on a notepad file, are you referring to a Authorized service interruption?

Correct. If you have users connected to the stack, you want to notify them and reload the switch in a maintenance window just in case something goes wrong. Also, a good idea that you are backing up the config. Once more thing, make sure to save the config (wr) before reloading the switch.
