Hi All,
We have some server connections which are being checked for moving to a different location.
The switch ( most of them 6500, 4500 and 4900) shows the ports for these servers as one gig connections.
The dilemma here is to find out if these are ethernet connections & if they are fibre, are their any SFP's connected on the port.
What i understand is if the interface shows 10/100/1000 TX - it indicates a ethernet connection with no SFP involved.
Please correct if this is wrong and let me know the way out. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't matter copper or fiber, they are both Ethernet.
As for it is copper interface of fiber. If you issue for example:
sw1#sh interfaces tenGigabitEthernet 1/0/1 capabilities
TenGigabitEthernet1/0/1
Model: WS-C3750E-48PD
Type: Not Present
Speed: 10000
Duplex: full
So this is 10Gig fiber and there is no optics inserted
and this is a copper interface 10/100/1000
sw1#sh interface g 1/0/1 capabilities
GigabitEthernet1/0/1
Model: WS-C3750E-48PD
Type: 10/100/1000BaseTX
Speed: 10,100,1000,auto
and for 1Gig fiber it should show:
Speed: 1000
Duplex: full
