IE-1000 .mfi Firmware?

I have a customer with an IE-1000 that is currently using this image: saturn-1.00-pre-6.04. If I attempt to update the firmware, it's looking for an .mfi instead of a .bin and can only be upgraded via TFTP. Is this some pre-production unit? Is there any way to update it?

Not familiar with this type of switch but looking at Cisco's site, the latest image is "ie1000-universalk9-mz.SPA.1.6.bin". 

There is no info about .mfi
