IE 2000 and profinet PLC control over switch

Hello all.

The team I am part of runs an industrial network based on the profinet protocol.

Enabling profinet grants the PLCs wide control over our IE 4000/2000 switches. This includes changing certain configurations, erasing the entire configuration and reloading the switch.

This is something we are trying to prevent. Is it possible to retain profinet capabilities while preventing PLCs from reconfiguring our devices?

Thank you

my guess is you cannot limit control from the Profinet I/O controller without losing the advantage of enabling Profinet.

Thanks, I am afraid this is the only conclusion!
