  - @egr11      Your question is somewhat unclear; if you want to know if the module is  compatible then the answer is yes have a look at Table 3. from https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-ie3400-rugged-series/cat-ie3400-rugged-series-ds.html

Hello @egr11,

there is no need for any wires or cables to connect the IE-3400-8T2S-E with the expansion module.

The switch and the expansion module have both connectors that simply fit into each other and are keyed to prevent incorrect installation.

The Attaching an Expansion Module section of the Cisco Catalyst IE3x00 Rugged Series Switches Hardware Installation Guide has a detailed description including pictures showing how to install the expansion module.

Hello. I mean if there between this switch and expansion module need Ethernet cable for communication? I dont know if the connector between them is only power supply or also communication pins. I hope you understand now my question.

The connectors are doing both, supplying power and communication between switch and expansion module.

No need for any cable between them.
