Hi everyone.
I have problem setting poe budget to more than 125w on my IE-4000-8GT8GP4G-E.
On web page I can only set 4-125w, same in cli: power inline wattage max <4-125>.
IIE-4000-8GT8GP4G-E should have possibility to set 240w.
I tried to find any help in switch manual but without luck.
Im attaching screenshot of power settings.
Im looking forward for any help.

Hi,
Max is 125.
See page 25 in this link:

Hi,
So I'm little confused now.
On IE4000 datasheet - Table2 shows 240W:
On IE4000 Guide:
Table1 shows information:
"1 IE-4000-8GT8GP4G-E supports up to 240W PoE, consisting of eight ports of PoE+ (30 W per port; IEEE 802.3at) with temperature derating (131°F (55°C) at full 240W PoE power) and depending on the power source used. All other PoE-capable models support up to 120W PoE, either PoE (15.4 W per port; IEEE 802.3af) or PoE+ (30 W per port; IEEE 802.3at) over the full operating temperature range.

Hi,
So, the switch has 8 POE+ ports and each port supports up to 30W. So, 8*30=240W.
I don't have one of these devices to test with but I don't think you can actually set one port to more than 30W.
Have you tested this?

I dont't want to set one port to more than 30W. I want to set whole switch to power up 8 devices, each 30W.
When i connect more than 4 devices 4*30W, switch shut downs poe because of 125W limit.
test#conf t
test(config)#power inline wattage max
%CAUTION: Misconfiguring the 'power inline' wattage
command may cause damage to the switch
Take precaution not to oversubscribe the power supply.
command will result in reset of the PD(s) connected.
Refer to documentation.

Ok, I understand now. You may want to open a ticket with Cisco on this and see if there is a bug in the OS you are running.

With newest IOS:
IE4000 Software (IE4000-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.2(4)EA9, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
Same problem.

Has this been resolved by TAC in the meanwhile?

Hi Maffi,
I am running into this problem as well. Did your TAC case give any results yet?

Found an ED release (15.2(6)E2a) of which the release notes state a "new feature" of 240W use ...

I have the same problem, have installed the mentioned IOS version, but still just 125W PoE budgett, is there a command I have to put in in order to get 240W PoE?

I had the same issue on the same model (V03) and the command fixed the issue. I will add though, that after issuing the command, all the ports went "offline" - I lost LLDP/CDP and I panicked a bit. I rebooted the switch without saving the config and the switch came back up in 125W mode and devices were back online. But then I tried the command again, and saved config and reloaded - it seems the command has to be issued at time of switch boot up to be effective.
Happy days! Not sure why Cisco doesn't make this the default.
