IGMPv3 behavior on 6500/7600-Sup720

Good morning all,

I'm trying to get a bit of clarification on either a mode and/or feature that the Sup720 uses (12.2SX Native IOS) when dealing with IGMPv3 requests.

I understand that a typical IGMPv3 SSM type request will typically have an INCLUDE list of IP addresses from which a client wishes to receive traffic.  However, is there such a scheme that would use only ONE of the IP's in the list and step its way through that list as any of the sources drop out of the actual multicast flow to the end client?  Sort of like a socket redundancy scheme within the IGMPv3 management of the switch?

I've been digging around and couldn't find anything, I'm hoping it's a simple matter of not finding the right feature.

Could someone comment on the validity of such a feature?  Or am I just nuts?

Many thanks in advance for any commentary/thoughts on the matter.

Regards,

Lucas
