Hi,

The router 1841 is connected directly to the layer switch. the network diagram is below:

        Office A --> Switch (L3) --> Router 1841 --> Internet --> Office B

However, when I transfer the file from Office A to office B, the speed very slow ( only around 40 kb/second), and there are an input error and CRC error:

Cisco-R1841#sh interfaces FA0/1

FastEthernet0/1 is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is Gt96k FE, address is 0019.e02f.03dd (bia 0019.e02f.03dd)

  Internet address is 10.16.0.2/24

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit, DLY 100 usec,

     reliability 251/255, txload 13/255, rxload 4/255

  Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set

  Keepalive set (10 sec)

  Full-duplex, 100Mb/s, 100BaseTX/FX

ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00

Last input 00:00:00, output 00:00:00, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters 00:21:30

Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0

  Queueing strategy: fifo

  Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)

  5 minute input rate 1937000 bits/sec, 535 packets/sec

  5 minute output rate 5312000 bits/sec, 618 packets/sec

     685090 packets input, 275553667 bytes

     Received 14382 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles

     22377 input errors, 22377 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored

     0 watchdog

0 input packets with dribble condition detected

     813755 packets output, 913977385 bytes, 0 underruns

0 output errors, 0 collisions, 0 interface resets

     0 babbles, 0 late collision, 0 deferred

0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier

0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out

I have configured the port speed on the switch to 100 MB full duplex, and also changed new network cable. But the file transfer speed still very slow.

Please advice me any solution.

Thanks

You've got a layer 1 problem.  Check and replace the cable.

Hi,

Kindly try changing the port on the switch?

Check the cable again?

Check the NIC driver on your machine is having latest driver install.

Check if possible connecting different laptop?

Hi,

After I change the speed on the router to Auto, the problem has been solved. Thanks

Ok, but you still have a potential Layer 1 issue.

Check Cable

Hardcore Settings Between Two Devices like

Duplex Full

Speed 100
