  Hi Experts,

We are facing since one month in our two Cisco WS-C3750G-12S on many interfaces input errors when data transer or ping (ICMP) increase input erros.

Not only port 1 but many interface has same issue, i have change new IOS but still same issue, once i have erase startup config but same issue we are facing and finaly i have replace same new switch with the same IOS it's working fine.(c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-55.SE4.bin)

So we want to know what is the issue in this switch and how to get the resolve of this issue.

switch#sh int gi1/0/1

GigabitEthernet1/0/1 is up, line protocol is up (connected)

Hardware is Gigabit Ethernet, address is 0012.00cf.fb81 (bia 0012.00cf.fb81)

MTU 9000 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,

     reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255

Can you post the output to the command "sh controll e "?

That's the wrong output.

Try this:  sh controll e Gi 1/0/1

This errors you are seeing, is happening to ALL THE PORTS of the switch?

Unless someone is going to prove me wrong, I believe ASIC 0 is faulty.

Nothing can be done to fix this issue other than an RMA.

Hi,

The 3750 is 52Mbit nonblocking for a standalone switch.  The ASIC seems to be

grouped in fours, so I assume each ASIC has 4Mbit of bandwith for 1:1.

If you would like to check asics you could be using for example:

#sh platf pm if-numbers

interface gid  gpn  lpn  port slot unit slun port-type lpn-idb gpn-idb

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----

Gi1/0/1   1    1    1    6/3  1    1    1    remote    No      Yes

=> the "port" contains the ASIC number 6/3 , ASIC 6. You can issue this

command then:

===================

#sh platform port-asic stats misc asic 6

Port-asic Misc Statistics

=====================================

    TxBufferFullDropCount               0

    TxBufferFrameDescBadCrc16DropCount  0

    TxBufferBandwidthDropCount          0

    TxQueueBandwidthDropCount           0

    TxQueueMissedDropStatistics         0

    SneakQueueDropCount                 0

    RxBufferDropDestIndexCount          270894

    LearningQueueOverflowFrames         0

    LearningCamSkipCount                0

    ReceivePortFifoFullDropStats[0 ]: 0

    ReceivePortFifoFullDropStats[1 ]: 0

    ReceivePortFifoFullDropStats[2 ]: 0

    ReceivePortFifoFullDropStats[3 ]: 0

But there is nothing as such command which will show you the ASIC is faulty. WE can run some more internal commands to see if the asic is facing any issue ...but this will be only when you open the TAC case.

Hi Leo,

This errors you are seeing, is happening to ALL THE PORTS of the switch?

Hi Leo,

This erros in 6 ports out of 12 (int port 1,2,5,6,9,10)

 (int port 1,2,5,6,9,10)

There's a pattern.

Test this:  Move whatever is on ports 1 & 2 to ports 3 & 4.

If, you DO NOT see any line errors, then you have a possible hardware fault.

Hi Leo,

I already tested  line from port 1 and 2 to port 3 & 4 then it's working fine on port 3 and 4.

So it is hardware issue ?? any chance to resolve of this issue ?

Unless someone is going to prove me wrong, I believe ASIC 0 is faulty.
