Inserting 2 different kind of power supply in single 6509 chassi

Hi,

Please let me know whether it is possible to insert 3000W power supply in one unit and 2500W power supply in another unit of single 6509 chassi. Is it required to shutdown the switch, insert the power supply and again turn on.Also let me know whether it will affect to the switch.

This is very urgent. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ram,

You can have unequal W power supply in chassis however I will recommed you to read the link which I am pasting out here about how will the switch function with different power W supply in chassis.

Hi Ram,

it wouldn't be problem when one power slot having 2500W & the other as 3000W, it matters only when you insert a different p/s which is not designed to use for 6509 chasis. also inserting the powersupply is hot swappable, so u need not turn OFF the switch, but make sure that when your removing 1 power supply module, it is turned OFF.
