installing a ios on cisco switch 3550

                   hi,

     im trying to install a ios 12.2v on my switch. when the screen prompt it does not show me the user move symbol " SW1> ". all i see is " SW:" and from there i can not enter the commands to download from tftp server !!!!!!!!!!

any help please

Can you enter any command?

for example, when you are at the prompt, can you issue "sh ver" or "config t" etc...?

hi,

if you type " ? " you can see the commands that you can type, but there is no show ver. if you want to see the version u only can type "version" not like if it is on user mode

Ok, can you do a "dir" and see what image is on the flash

and then

try this

boot flash

save and reboot:

i saw that but i had doudts wether or not i would have to use the tftp server (winagent) to download the image file and i could not figure out which command to use.

do you have any IOS image on the flash currently?
