hi, i am configuring a server with two intel NICS. i have coneccted each interface trough two different switches, and the intel teaming set to Switch Fault Tolerance (SFT). I have STP in the L2 network, and set BPDUGUARD and PORTFAST in the teamings interfaces. Is this correct? Ihave some problem whith the server, lost connectivity.

Hello Ignacio,

to survive in the world of teaming you need to read documentation

download the following pdf about intel teaming

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/network/9195p/en/Intel_nic_teaming_10.pdf

1.2.3.2 Switch Fault Tolerance (SFT)

Switch Fault Tolerance (SFT) provides a failover relationship between two ports when each port is connected to a separate switch. SFT supports two ports per team. Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) must be enabled on the switch except that the ports connected to the teamed ports should have Port Fast or Edge Port enabled. This teaming mode works with any switch.

I would try without BPDU guard enabled

Hope to help

Giuseppe

i had read that document, but the server fails with or without BPUGuard
