I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the Intel X520 and Cisco SFPs mentioned in the titled and if so, will there be any compatibility issues with the two.

These two items will be installed into/in a Cisco UCS 240 server.

Thank you.

p.s. sorry if in wrong community.

Make sure to order Intel SFP+ modules for use with the Intel X520 network interface cards.

The Intel X520 network interface cards don't support Cisco SFP+ modules.

You can go with the below Cisco SFP

CSP-SFP-1WSR= SFP+ for Intel X520, 10GE, SR Optical

If running Linux, you can set the bit to allow unsupported SFPs and use Cisco SFP+.

In /etc/modprobe.d/ixgbe.conf
options ixgbe allow_unsupported_sfp=1,1  <-BOTH ports

With ESXi or Windows you are out of luck unless you have specially modified drivers.

Do you know If the twinax cable is compatible?

SFP-H10GB-CU3M=

We've had success using Intel twinax SFP assemblies with Intel X520 network cards.
