Hi all,
I would like to seek advise on intervlan routing for Nexus 5548.
I understand I have to enable feature intervlan routing for Nexus 5548 and I had done that.
I created 2 vlan.. one for lan and one vlan for wan interface.
Switchport access vlan 10 for FEX ( the hosts)
And trunk mode for vlan 20 ( the wan)
I try to ping the hosts to vlan 10 ok.
But when I try to ping to vlan 20 which is connected to the wan. It show destination unreachable.
Can anyone advise me pls.
I appreciate.

Hi
Can you clarify a couple of things.
Switchport access vlan 10 for FEX ( the hosts)
You have a single port on one of your FEXes which is in Access Port in Vlan 10?
And trunk mode for vlan 20 ( the wan)
What type of device is the 'WAN' port connected to?
A trunk port will only work if the other end understands 802.1q Trunking.
Thanks

Hi,
The access ports are on FEX for hosts. Whereas for the WAN, It connected to Nexus 5548.
The nexus port for wan is config as trunk.
Pls advise if it is appropriate.
With Thanks and Regards,
Ricky

Hi,
I apologise for accidentally click on the "correct answer button".
Pls refer to attachment for the network diagram.
VLAN 10 is for hosts
VLAN 20 is for WAN connection. Encapsulation dot1q in trunk mode. (Requirement by service provider.)
I had enable intervlan feature in Nexus 5000. Link up with FEX2000.
Hosts are in VLAN 10 with in access mode.
From the hosts (192.168.1.X network), Im able to ping to VLAN 10 (192.168.1.254) which is the gateway for the hosts.
However when I try to ping VLAN 20 (169.254.251.100) which is for WAN connection in trunk mode, Hosts display destination unreachable.
Is it to deal with intervlan routing issue?
Do I need a static route for this to work?
With Thanks and Regards,
Ricky
