I only have these on what seems like HP Laserjet 1320 printers (and not all of them). When these devices boot up they will not get an ip address for about 30 minutes or so. All I see in the debug ip dhcp server events is it continually checking for expired leases. I have double checked all my configs and I know that devices can get to the dhcp server that is server these addresses. What the issue becomes is that I think after so long with "checking expired leases" that the dhcp server/client gives up and just gets an address that may already be in use. So people will start to print to the wrond printers since we use name resolution for the printer ports. Any insight as to what to check would be very helpful! The client is on a 3560 switch running IOS 12.2(25r). If you need any more info just let me know.

Have you checked spanning-tree? Try enabling portfast so that the port is immediately up without going through the spanning tree process.

yes spanning tree is configured correctly with portfast.
