Internal calls not working ....No Audio

I have been having a problem and have opened up a ticket via TAC but still nothing fixed. I can't call internal extensions to any of my other device pools but they can all call each other. When I call they pick up and I hear them but they can't hear me. I have replaced the router(thinking maybe the router was going out) but with no fix. I need help please. Thanks!!!!

Shane,

Please provide your entire configuration and an exact description which call works as expected and which call does not work.

Best regards,

Peter

External calls work and all internal calls to/from Main Location do not. Every other branch works to each other is okay. This problem started with one branch and now can't call anyone. We had this happen about 6 months ago to one branch and I reloaded the switches and router at that branch and it has never happen again.

Here is my router Config:

Shane,

This is not specific enough. Can I ask you to answer the following questions?

  • What is the exact extension that can be called correctly? What is the callee and caller number, and if they are IP endpoints, what are their IP addresses?
  • What is the exact extensions that cannot be called? Again, what is the callee and caller number in this case and their IP addresses?

Best regards,

Peter

I called from 6316 10.0.10.78 to 642710.0.13.31

Works fine

I call from 6316 10.0.10.78 to 6450 10.0.11.66

No Audio

Shane,

Thank you for your responses. The router configuration does not seem to imply it is running a Call Manager Express - I assume that you are using an external call manager or an equivalent service to perform call routing.

What I would try to do is to perform packet capture to see

  • whether the media stream (i.e. voice packet stream) is addressed towards an appropriate endpoint
  • whether the media stream is actually being delivered to the endpoint

The fact that the called endpoint actually can be called proves that the basic signalling is working. However, as the parties can not hear each other, it has to be determined if the media stream is properly generated and addressed, and whether it is being delivered. An inappropriately configured firewall can be blocking the media stream, rendering the call "silent".

Best regards,

Peter
