Hello.
During the investigation of some communication issues inside the SCADA system I checked the ASIC drops by issuing command "show platform hardware fed switch active fwd-asic drops exceptions" on our core switch which is also configured as the root bridge for most of VLANs (Rapid PVST+).
I can see that the counter "STP_OR_FLEXLINK_DROP shows significant number of drops and is growing rapidly. Could you please explain what could be the root cause? Does it mean that the switch is not able to process some BPDU's? But why? Does it mean that such BPDU's are comming from different STP protocols? Or that somenone modified some STP parameters like "hello-time" or "forward-time" somewhere in the network? (part of the network is not managed by me and I have zero access to it :))
Btw. I checked the switch utilization and its below 3%. I also checked utilization by processes and I cannot see anything suspicious.
See the attached files for more detail about the counter
Thank you very much for your help in advance
PS: Switch model: C9500-40X-A
