IOS Overkill on computerroom switch?

Trying to find answer to some mysterious events occuring on a 6509/sup720 computerroom switch. Do not see anything abnormal on the interfaces. This is a non-service provider. Just alot of corporate servers. The customer is running...

s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-vz.122-18.SXF7

in a strictly Layer2 environment. cannot get good answer on reason why.

Anyone have anything similiar? recommendations?

Intermittant connectivity loss between servers attached to the switch.
