Hi,
IOS in Cisco 3560 has been deleted mistakenly. I am trying to recover it through XMODEM. I have tried three times but whenever I issued the boot
command as boot flash:/c3560e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE8.bin the following output comes out as under:
extracting front_end/front_end_ucode_info (309 bytes)
Software version is different so extracting

Hi AbdulKarim,
How long do you wait during the 'programming device' phase? This is an incredibly slow process depending on the device and the version you are upgrading to.
Give it about 30-45 minutes and it should upgrade and reboot fine.
cheers,
Seb.

Hi Seb,
Should I wait 45 mins after boot flash:/c3560e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE8.bin?

45 minutes should be more than sufficent. There is typically several microcode images to write to the device, they are attempted in sequency, largest first.
cheers,
Seb.

Seb thanks for your kind response,
But before it was not happening. It is new for me this is so much time. Before that I never faced this issue during IOS upgrading.
What is the possible reason for that.

Whether you need to upgrade the microcode is dependant on the versions of IOS you are upgrading between. Sometimes an upgrade does not require it, but it is out of your control.
Have you waited 45+ minutes and still not seen the command prompt?
cheers,
Seb.
