IOS Upgrade for Cisco 6509-E sup720. Do I need to upgrade the bootloader image also?

Hi Guys,

 

I have to upgrade the IOS on my WS-C6509-E-WS-SUP720-3B switch. 

current OSProposed OS
s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF14.bin

s72033-ipservices-mz.151-2.SY2.bin

 

Do I need to upgrade the bootloader image also? Please confirm.

Hi,

No, you don't need to upgrade the bootloader image. 

I think some newer versions of IOS upgrade the bootloader during the IOS upgrade
