IOS Upgrade from Cat to IOS

Afternoon,

    Would like to upgrade a 4507R to more current IOS. (cat4500-entservicesk9-mz.122-50.SG6.bin)

Sup V-10GE 10GE (X2) running cat4000-i5k91s-mz.122-25.EWA14.bin

Would like to upgrade to 4500 software. I have had Supervisor V's with newer ios. Just wondering why it is hanging during boot up or a continuous booting loop. Wondering if there is a guide for this.

Rommon:  Rom Monitor Program Version 12.2(31r)SGA7

Exiting to ios...

Rommon reg: 0x10000380
#################################################

Hi,

Your SupV-10GE seems to be affected by the problem of SDRAM degradation as described in FN-62479. Please see the document beneath and act accordingly:

Hi,

Do you have the required memory and flash for his IOS?

Hey Reza,

I do but I just get a continuous rommon boot until I hit control-C to suspend.

I tftp'd the IOS to bootflash and Slaveboot flash with space. Configured the boot statements to direct to the newer IOS.

Below are my los statement.

Switch#red for
Switch#red force-switchover
This will reload the active unit and force switchover to standby[confirm]

Below is the Standby which has the new image and tried to switch over to.

Console into the supervisor card and check the config-registry is correct.

Here is my sho bootvar command. IOS is plased in bootflash of both sup's.

Old bootvar

Standby BOOT variable = bootflash:cat4000-i5k91s-mz.122-25.EWA14.bin,12;
Standby CONFIG_FILE variable does not exist
Standby BOOTLDR variable =
Standby Configuration register is 0x2102

 New IOS Bootvar

Standby BOOT variable = bootflash:cat4500-entservicesk9-mz.122-31.SGA11.bin,1;
Standby CONFIG_FILE variable does not exist
Standby BOOTLDR variable =
Standby Configuration register is 0x2102

I have Submitted a tac case for this. Awaiting response, but seems the best route at this time.
