its a more secure mage , so SSH between user and router is secure when connecting , unlike telnet where someone on the LAN could see your passwords on a wire as cleartext , its not a benefit to the user but a benefit to network security on your local network , also if it was a router k9 it could support features like DMVPN or IPSEC GRE and IWAN all use encryption, so you could tunnel a users traffic and encrypt it and provide very flexible logical secure paths , always best to have a K9 than not have it , extra security
