Recently I upgraded a 2 x WS-C3850-12S switch stack to 03.06.08E running ipServices.
During the boot phase I saw quite a few entries as follows:
Sep 23 16:52:59.142: %IOSXE-3-PLATFORM: STANDBY:2 process kernel: i2c-octeon 1180000001000.i2c: octeon_i2c_start: bad status (0x40)

These errors stopped after approx 30secs
sh post all looks good and I see nothing obvious of concern.
Should I be worried?

Hello,
Sounds like a parity error:
If they clear on their own, probably nothing to be concerned with. You probably just have some interference in your environment. If they keep coming back or don't clear on a reload, might be worth opening a ticket for.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the inf.
I'll keep a close eye on it - hopefully it's a one off - time will tell.
