IOSXE Downgrade

Could you tell me how to downgrade the software 17.3.x from 17.9.x? If something happens during upgrading 17.9.x from 17.3.X, I will downgrade. Do I need to remove SMU file? Is the following correct?

On 17.9.

Delete SMU install remove file bootflash: <17.3.smu>

2.install remove inactive

3. Install 17.3.x install add file bootflash : <17.3>

4. Reload Device

5. Install SMU install add file bootflash: <17.3.smu>

Or When I downgrade to original version (17.3.x), do I need to reapply SMU?

When you downgrade - if the ROMMON upgraded can not be downgraded, this is not an issue.

If you downgrading version that need SMU,then you need to install as per downgrade and upgrade guidelines.

Depends on the device model, look the release notes.

when you downgrade, some of the features may not work, so pay close attention if any syntax changed.
