My production asr  IOS XE software is

asr1001-universalk9.03.13.04.S.154-3.S4-ext.bin

For a  IPV6 vulnerability I researched and found this "fix code"

asr1001-universalk9.03.17.00.S.156-1.S-std.bin

I am using the adventerprise license

Could someone help me understand the difference between ext.bin and std.bin

Haven't used IOS XE but I believe it designates whether the version is standard support or extended support with extended support being an IOS version that Cisco will support for an extended time period.

See this link which gives more details -

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/asr-1000-series-aggregation-services-routers/product_bulletin_c25-726436.html

note also the recommendation is, if possible, to use an extended version.
