IP address is empty in CDP neighbor of Cisco switch

switch 1 and switch 2

Switch 2 appears in CDP neighbor of Switch 1. But it was not showing IP address (empty).

IP address is visible after changing STP from Rapid PVST to MST.

If PVST BPDU is superior than MST BPDU, will MST place the port to blocking state ? If so, how it is restricting IP address (L3 information) to be not shown in CDP neighbor.

Please someone help here to understand it.

Hello,

the MST BPDU has to be superior to each PVST+ BPDU (from every VLAN, if you have more than 1 Vlan).

Can you post the functioning and non-functioning configs ?

spanning-tree mode rapid-pvst - This was removed

spanning-tree mode mst - This has been added and IP address is seen in CDP Neighbor now. Just wondering how STP restricting L3 information in CDP Neighbor.
