Hello,
Until now, my network was on a single VLAN, VLAN 1.
I recently segmented the network into several VLANs.
I created a management VLAN (VLAN X) for my switchs (10 C2960X), and I put my servers in VLAN Y, and kept my workstations in VLAN 1
In my switches, VLAN 1 no longer has an IP address and is shutting down.
My problem is that my DHCP server is now in VLAN Y, and IP addresses are no longer being distributed to workstations .
So I configured the IP helper in the switches, but it's not working. I wonder if this could be due to VLAN 1 being shut down?
Do you have any ideas or advice?

I am glad that my explanation has been helpful and that you are understanding better. I agree that talking with your chief about a renewing plan for your equipment would be very good.

Hello
OH ... my chief is not an IT people he will tell me "we haven't money ..."
So i took a look an i try to understand ... untiil hune last year all our switch was layer 2 and during this year some failure ane the needs to upgrade in POE switch made we change 8 switch .... our resellers send us switches layer 2+3 .... i don't take care !
In the same time our security advisories asked us to implement VLAN and segmented our network and secure them with our firewalls ...
Make changes when you are not a network sepcialist and pas a certain age make things complicated !!
Thanks a lot for your help ... all
