We have a 6509 with a sup720 running IOS 12.2(18). We would like to deploy IPV6 on our network. The problem that we are seeing is that the RA are limited to only supplying the global prefix. So we would need to add a IPV6 DHCP server to our envionment, but the problem with that is the server would have to be on the same subnet as the client machines because there is no IPV6 DHCP relay agent available.
Is there something that we am missing or is this just the way it is? Anyone else having this issue?

David,
All global and unique local prefixes should be part of the router advertisement. What prefix is not being advertised in your case.

We cannot advertise the DNS settings.

David,
I understand the sense of your question now. You indeed need support for DHCPv6 relay. Unfortunately, this feature is not currently available for the 6500. You may want to contact your account team to find more information on when this feature will be available on the 6500 platform.
