hi ,

i want to ask about cisco 7600 model

is it a switch or  router or layer3 switch or Multilayer switch ??????

which one is it ??

The 7600 is in effect a router but it does it's routing in hardware so it could be referred to as a L3 switch in that regard.

Best to think of it as a hardware router as it is concentrated more on L3 routing than L2 switching. It is similiar to a 6500 switch but supports additional interfaces which may be used to terminate non ethernet connectivity and has a different IOS which would support more WAN based technologies.

But it is still a chassis based device and will support ethernet modules as with the 6500.
