ISR 4000 series DC power supply

Hi,

We are installing some ISR 4351's that will be powered from a DC power source. As it looks from the ordering guide, the PWR-4450-DC(=) power supply should be used.

Is there any idea of the DC voltage operating range required?

Thanks!

Search for VDC.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/4400/hardware/installation/guide4400-4300/C4400_isr/FRUs_Modules.html

Note the warning about it being only supported on the 4431.

Overview of the DC Power Supply

The DC power supply is only supported on the Cisco ISR4431 router.

The input connector and plug must be UL recognized under UL 486 for field wiring. The connection polarity is from left to right: negative (–), positive (+), and ground.

The power supply has a handle to be used for insertion and extraction. The module must be supported with one hand because of its length.

The power supply DC input range is –48 to –60 VDC, and the maximum power is 350 W.

Thanks for the info.

We are somewhat confused as the PWR-4450-DC(=) power supply is listed as a compatible DC power supply for the ISR4351 as listed in Table 2 at this link:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/4000-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/guide-c07-732797.html

Any clarification would be helpful.

Thanks.

I just ran up this configuration in the "Cisco Commerce Workplace" tool - and the configuration shows as valid.  However it shows the PWR-4450-DC as being on NPH, which means new product hold.

So it may be it has just been added to this model router as a valid option.  Note that being on a NPH, it means if you placed an order for the router and DC power supply it wont ship - it will be placed on hold, until the NPH is released.

I can't tell you when the NPH will be released.  I would do a further inquiry through your favourite Cisco reseller.
