ISSU and config register

I have a WS-C4507R+E with 2 x SUP8-E. The "Configuration register is 0x2102".
I'm planning upgrade the IOS XE to the latest version using ISSU.
the configuration has the "boot system flash statement pointing to the current IOS".
Question:

do I have update the path with the new ios in the boot system.... manually
or the ISSU do this automatically

Manually.  The system won't know what IOS you want to load.
