Issue with "switch provision" command on 3850 "F" models

I am trying to issue the "switch 1 provision" command on a WS-C3850-48F switch with four GE uplinks.  I'd expect to specify "switch 1 provision ws-c3850-48f" in the configuration.  However, that model is not a supported parameter for the command:

Switch(config)#switch 1 provision ?

ws-c3650-24pd  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 24 GE POE and 2GE+2TenGE Interfaces

ws-c3650-24ps  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 24 GE POE and 4 GE Interfaces

ws-c3650-24td  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 24 GE and 2GE+2TenGE Interfaces

ws-c3650-24ts  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 24 GE and 4 GE Interfaces

ws-c3650-48pd  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 48 GE POE and 2GE+2TenGE Interfaces

ws-c3650-48pq  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 48 GE POE and 4 TenGE Interfaces

ws-c3650-48ps  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 48 GE POE and 4 GE Interfaces

ws-c3650-48td  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 48 GE and 2GE+2TenGE Interfaces

ws-c3650-48tq  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 48 GE and 4 TenGE Interfaces

ws-c3650-48ts  Catalyst 3650 Series Switch with 48 GE and 4 GE Interfaces

ws-c3850-12s   Catalyst 3850 Series Switch with 12 1GE SFP Interfaces

ws-c3850-24p   Catalyst 3850 Series Switch with 24 GE POE Interfaces

ws-c3850-24s   Catalyst 3850 Series Switch with 24 1GE SFP Interfaces

ws-c3850-24t   Catalyst 3850 Series Switch with 24 GE Interfaces

ws-c3850-24u   Catalyst 3850 Series Switch with 24 GE UPOE Interfaces

ws-c3850-48p   Catalyst 3850 Series Switch with 48 GE POE Interfaces

ws-c3850-48t   Catalyst 3850 Series Switch with 48 GE Interfaces

ws-c3850-48u   Catalyst 3850 Series Switch with 48 GE UPOE Interfaces

Should I simply use one of the ws-c3650-48p option since the only difference between the "f" and "p" models is the power supplies?

If you are logged on to the 3850-48f switch, do a "show run" and you will see what it has been provisioned for by the system.  You really only need the provision command if you are stacking switches.

No, because 3650 switch and 3850 switch are totally different models.

However, that model is not a supported parameter for the command:

Maybe because the stack master isn't running the correct IOS which support this model.

I am having this problem too. We have two existing stacks in production of 3x WS-C3650-FS-S switches. We plan to replace the 3rd member switch in both the stacks with a new WS-C3650-48FD-L switch to have 10Gig connectivity.

What do I need to keep in mind before removing the old one and adding the new 10G one? I plan to check the IOS version and license beforehand to avoid any mismatch issues. Do I need to do any other offline configuration on the new switch before adding it to the stack?

My current plan is:
-> Remove the cables of the old member switch. Note down the port connections.
-> Power off the old member switch, and remove the stacking cables from the old members.
-> Connect the stacking cables to the new 10G member switch in power off mode, turn it up.

Since the old and new member switches are of the different models; do I need to remove the provisioning of the old member switch and provision the new
10G switch before powering it up in the stack? Speaking of provisioning, it is not showing the 48FD model to provision beforehand on the stack:
gurg.spaces.sw-01(config)#switch 4 provision ?
