Hi All,
I have a requirement to build a redundent network, at my office,
We have SG300 52 and 24 Port devices , so my manager is asking to use those as L3 Device, as Core switch to do the job of Inter Vlan routing and Default and static routing to reach my Firewall(gateway).
I have recomended to buy C3750 series of switches , as they can be stacked and can be used in redundency.
If i compare both the models,
Features | SG300 -52 | C3750-24 |
---|---|---|
Ram | 128MB | 256MB |
Forwarding Rate | 77.38 mpps | 65.5 mpps |
Redundency(failover) | NA | Using StackCable |
There could be lot of features which keeps C3750 ahead,
So i request all the professional , to pls put some light on why C3750 should be prefered on SG300 models.
pls add your valuable comments...........
Regards,
Ashraf

Hi Ashraf
SG-300 is a small business switch created for small companies and if you plan to install few switches - you can select them.
Cat3750 are more advanced - support much more features than SG serier, very extendable and allow to build scalable networks.
If your network will grow - would be better to use 3750.

Alex
