Dear All,

I am confused with NEXUS switches connectivity, and i would like help with my below scenario

I am responsible to design a data center to my company, i am willing to use the top of rack data center switch model, we have 15 server rack each rack will house two Cisco Nexus switches 6001T , and we will aggregate all these TOR switches uplink to two seperate aggregator switches 6001P, each TOR switch rack will have fiber patch panel pack to back with aggregator switches rack,

now my question is all TOR switches "6001T" has uplinks QSFP+ (40G)and i am willing to use breakout cable to connect one QSFP+ port per switch to the fiber ptach panel and from aggregator rack side take each TOR related fiber patch panel port by MMF cable to 10G port on 6001P is this design is applicable or not and what your recommendation ?

/Ali

Nexus 6K are NOT designed as ToR switches.  The Nexus 2K are designed as ToR.  The 2K then link up to the Nexus 5K, 6K, 7K.

I can't imagine you would get approval for 15 Nexus 6k's for ToR. LOL

You need what are known as FEX's for the Nexus 6k, Fabric Extenders. These are essentially "blades/Line-cards" for the Nexus line products but they are placed at the top of the rack and aggregrated back to a pair of Nexus switches.
