Please refer to the attached block diagram:
I have three 3560 switches, two configured as Layer 2 and 1 as Layer 3. I am able to route multicast
data from the Layer 2 switch to the Layer 3 switch and end device using SVI's on Port 6 (VLAN 39) and Port 16 (VLAN 45) using the configurations as shown. The end device receives the proper multicast data.
On the Layer 2 switch as shown, all ports have VLAN 39 also configured. Multicast data continues to flow down from the top Layer 2 switch through the EtherChannel configuration down to the (3) end devices. However, after a couple of minutes data stops flowing to the end devices. When I disconnect the cable between the Layer 3 and 2 switches, multicast data starts to flow once again to the end devices.
Unable to figure out why data stops flowing. Could use some help on this one.
