Hello,

I have a cisco switches 6500, 3500 & 3750.

I'm sending multicast & reciving another multicast from 3750 switch on 6500 switch. And transfer it from 6500 to 3500 switch.

now i want to stop the multicast comming from 3750 to 6500. is that possible?

which meen i want only to send multicast from 6500 to 3750 & 3500 without recieving it on 6500.

My config on 6500 is nabled vlan for multicast, igmp snooping off, and multicast routing on.

Regards

Hi,

You can block the multicast traffic on the data plane by using port or vlan ACL.

Yes, that works for me but the cpu utilization goes to 99% ..

        Let me explain.

I'm recieving multicast on 238.0.0.1 and sending multicast at 239.0.0.1 and the multicast works fine. now i want to block the 238.0.0.1 multicast is comming to me. i made an access-list and get the matches but cpu goes up to 99%

6500 should process ACL in hardware. You need to check the reason that causes 6500 punt the packet to CPU. Check your TCAM utilization, and make sure there is no log keyword for the ACL.
