Can anyone tell me what the lifecycle is for the 2960 series switch? When will cisco stop supporting this hardware?

It's kind of hard to predict but based on previous EOL announcements, you have 6 years of hardware support starting from the date of the EOL announcement.
The 2960 is replacing the 2950 switch. The 2950 switch was declared EOL on October 22, 2007 so I don't expect a 2960 replacement for another 4-5 years and as I explained before, even after the replacement is out, you get an additional 6 years of hardware support after its EOL.

If it helps they are adding a new 2960 POE model 2960-48PS-L, according to the latest press release about their EnergyWise solution.
The 2960s will last a good while. All they really lack feature wise is IP source guard and some other extended filtering capabilities, which if you switch over to 802.1x things can be done there by pushing access lists via RADIUS.
