In the interface to Internet we have a trunk with 802.1q with 2 VLAN. It is a Gigabit interface of a Catalyst 6509, only we can configure the level 2.
We need to limit the traffic output for one of the vlan, so as not to flood the link shared with the other vlan.
In other words, we need limit all traffic from only one VLAN of the trunk (without distinguishing type of traffic). How we could do?

I would suggest traffic shaping.

VIP-Distributed CAR is a version of CAR that runs on the Versatile Interface Processor (VIP). It is supported on the following routers with a VIP2-40 or greater interface processor:
â¢Cisco 7000 series with RSP7000
â¢Cisco 7500 series
