Looking for a router that supports class b subnet

One of our customers is looking for a Cisco router that supports class b subnets, but in the small business range of routers I can not set the subnetmask to 255.255.0.0. Does anyone know which Cisco routers do support this?

I really would consider to rethink about that design. But on any IOS-router you can configure that the way you want.

HI Philip,

i would consider a small business router :

http://www.cisco.com/cisco/web/solutions/small_business/index.html

or the series 880 (Cisco 887VA if ADSL is in place with no wireless) to be sure to be scalable enough. As possibly Karsten was underlining, you should keep many factors in your mind like :

a) how big is the bandwidth required?

b) is this router playing which fnctionalities?

c) there will be some VPN involved?

d) wireless capabilities?

e) how many users behind this router? How many servers?

f)  which is the scalability requirements are in place?

h) why is this customer requiring a "b" class?

j) VLAN and subnetting requirements?

and few more which will determine your choice. With no further info i would say you should start looking at the 800 series :

Hope this helps
